When Should You Book Your Wedding Photographer?

Planning your wedding day certainly comes with its own challenges, such as booking vendors in the perfect time frame. Each vendor must be booked in time, or you could go without. For example, most venues book out a year or more in advance. So, choosing your venue in the best time frame is a must if you want to be happy with your setting.

Your photographer must also be booked soon enough, or you could miss out on quality photos that showcase your big day. Have you started booking your wedding vendors yet?

Here at Joseph Hummel Photography, we know how important it is to photograph your nuptials! After all, they will be your greatest keepsake from your big day. Are you unsure of when to book your photographer? If so, be sure to continue reading to gain some great insight:

  • The Standard Booking Time. Photographers are busy, and they are in high demand for many special events, from corporate parties to portrait sessions. If you want to book the best photographer, it’s best to book your photographer about a year prior to your big day. This gives you time to take part in an engagement photo session with them, to ensure that they are the right fit for you and your big day. In addition, you wouldn’t want another couple to book them before you do.

  • Changing Styles. Booking your photographer too far in the future can be detrimental to your wedding album vision. Photographers are artists and their styles are bound to change. If you are trying to book two or three years into the future, their style could be quite different in such length of time. You could be missing out on the style that you were hoping for. Ideally, a year in advance, as mentioned above, is best.

  • For the Right Price. You are likely sticking to a budget, and the cost of your wedding photographer is a huge part of it. Booking your photographer about a year in advance will have you know what you should be expecting to spend on your photos, so that you can move forward with other areas of your planning and have your photography locked down.

A quality photographer is a must for every wedding! These are just a few tips to assist you with booking yours in a timely manner. Here at Joseph Hummel Photography, as a wedding photographer in Lake Tahoe, we would be happy to capture your big day. Contact us today to book your Incline Village wedding photographer.
